Albendazole
Albendazole is a benzimidazole compound with broad-spectrum anthelmintic activity. It is effective against most nematodes and cestodes, including their larval, immature stages, and eggs.
Indications :
Albadima is an antiparasitic preparation used for the treatment of various internal parasites in cattle, camels, sheep, and goats, including:
- Gastrointestinal roundworms: Such as hookworms, Chabertia spp., Cooperia spp., blood-sucking worms (Haemonchus spp.), neck threadworms, nodular worms, Ostertagia spp., Oesophagostomum spp., Strongylus spp., and hair-like nematodes.
- Lungworms: Such as Dictyocaulus viviparus (large lungworm in cattle) and Dictyocaulus filaria (large or common lungworm in sheep).
- Tapeworms: Such as Moniezia expansa.
- Adult liver flukes: Such as the common liver fluke and the small liver fluke (Dicrocoelium dendriticum).
Dosage and Administration :
A single oral dose administered directly by mouth or using a bolus applicator.
Sheep and Goats:
- For worms: 5 mg per kg of body weight (One bolus per 50 kg body weight)
- For liver flukes: 8.3 mg per kg of body weight (One bolus per 30 kg body weight)
Cattle and Camels:
- For worms: 7.5 mg per kg of body weight (Three boluses per 100 kg body weight)
- For liver flukes: 10 mg per kg of body weight (Four boluses per 100 kg body weight)
It is recommended to administer the treatment before feeding or grazing.
Precautions :
Do not administer during the first stage of pregnancy.
Side Effects :
No known side effects, The product can be safely administered to weak animals.
