Oxytetracycline hydrochloride is a broad-spectrum antibiotic effective against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, as well as Mycoplasma, Rickettsia, Chlamydia, and Anaplasma. It is effective in the treatment of localized infections caused by these organisms. Like other tetracyclines, oxytetracycline acts by directly interfering with bacterial protein synthesis within the microbial cell.
Ethinyl estradiol acts as an adjuvant by enhancing uterine muscle motility and promoting phagocytic activity. It also induces relaxation of the cervix, facilitating the drainage of purulent discharges.
Indications :
The product is indicated for the treatment of uterine infections. It is applied in cases of retained placenta, post-abortion, after premature, difficult, or cesarean delivery, and in all cases of purulent metritis.
It is used in cattle, sheep, and goats. Since the hormone is applied locally, no reduction in milk yield is expected.
Dosage and Administration :
Cattle: 1–4 suppositories.
Sheep and Goats: ½ suppository.
Administer intrauterinely. The dose may be repeated if necessary.
