Oxidema 10%
Composition:
Each 1 ml contains:
1- Oxytetracycline hydrochloride (100 mg)
2- Excipients sufficient for up to 1 ml.
Pharmacological properties:
Oxidema 10% is a broad spectrum antibiotic used by deep intramuscular or slow intravenous injection to reach therapeutic levels of oxytetracycline in the blood. After intramuscular injection, its concentration in the blood reaches its highest levels within 4-8 hours and after injection, its level in the blood lasts for at least 4 days, which makes Oxidema for the treatment of acute infections.
Oxidema 10% is prescribed for the treatment of diseases caused by organisms sensitive to oxytetracycline in cows, sheep and goats. A large number of Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria and some strains of Mycoplasma, Rickettsia, Protozoa and Chlamydia are sensitive to oxytetracycline.
Indications:
It is prescribed in cows to treat the following cases:
- Pneumonia.
- Pasteurella.
- Hoo rot.
- Actinobacillus.
- Joint diseases.
- As an adjuvant treatment in cases of inflammation of the uterus and udder.
- Treatment of anaplasmosis.
- Streptomycosis (streptomycosis).
- Hydrocarditis.
- Abscesses and skin and local infections.
- Infections after surgical operations.
It is prescribed in sheep and goats in the following cases:
- Treatment of pneumonia.
- Uterine infections.
- Mastitis.
- Hoo rot.
- Joint diseases.
- Chlamydia.
- Abscesses.
- Treatment of infections after surgical operations and after birth.
- Umbilitis.
Treated animals:
Cattle, sheep and goats.
Dosage and method of use:
Given by deep intramuscular or slow intravenous injection:
Cattle, camels, sheep and goats: 1 ml per 20 kg live weight every 12-24 hours for 3-5 days.
The maximum amount that can be injected in one place is 20 ml for cattle and 5 ml for sheep and goats.
