Albendazole + Rafoxanide Oral suspension is a broad-spectrum anthelmintic used for the treatment and control of parasitic infections in cows or sheep. It is indicated for the treatment of mature and immature stages of nematodes and cestodes of the gastrointestinal and respiratory tract.

Albendazole belongs to the drug class called benzimidazole anthelmintics. It exhibits broad-spectrum action against many varieties of worms, such as roundworms, tapeworms, and flukes of domestic animals and humans. Albendazole works by inhibiting tubulin polymerization.

Rafoxanide is classified as a halogenated salicylanilide It is active against both mature and immature Fasciola.

It is important to note that Albendazole + Rafoxanide Oral Suspension is for veterinary purposes only. This formulation is intended to be prescribed by a veterinary doctor or animal care specialist for an animal.

Indications :

Broad-spectrum anthelmintic for controlling both adult and immature forms of gastrointestinal worms, lungworms, tapeworms, and liver flukes in cattle, sheep, and goats.

It is also effective against liver fluke eggs and nematodes.

  • Nematodes: Ostertagia, Haemonchus, Trichostrongylus, Nematodirus, Isospagostomum, Bunostomum, Cooperia, Strongyloides spp.

Typically effective against larvae of Cooperia and inhibited Ostertagia, as well as the immature stages of Dictyocaulus.

  • Gastrointestinal worms: Effective against both adult and larval stages, including Haemonchus, Ostertagia, Trichostrongylus, Cooperia, Nematodirus, and Bunostomum.
  • Lungworms: Dictyocaulus.
  • Tapeworms: Moniezia, Liver flukes.

Also effective against larval stages of nasal bot flies in sheep and goats, such as Oestrus ovis, and in cattle (Hypoderma bovis, Hypoderma lineatum).

Dosage and Administration :

Administer orally by drenching.

Shake the bottle well before use.

  • Cattle: 4 ml per 10 kg of body weight as a single dose.
  • Sheep and Goats: 3 ml per 10 kg of body weight as a single dose.

Or as directed by a veterinarian.

Precautions :

Do NOT use Albendazole + Rafoxanide Oral Suspension for an animal that:

  • has a known allergy or hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.
  • is in the first trimester of pregnancy.
  • is a pigeon or a dove.

Treatment with this drug should be administered with caution for an animal that:

  • has liver disease.
  • is pregnant or lactating.

There are known interactions between Albendazole and other drugs, including cimetidine, dexamethasone, and praziquantel.

Always wash hands thoroughly after handling this product. Pregnant women should not handle Albendazole products, as it can be absorbed through direct skin contact

Side Effects :

As with all pharmaceuticals, some unwanted effects can occur from the use of Albendazole + Rafoxanide Oral Suspension.

Serious side effects may include:

  • allergy or hypersensitivity reactions
  • severe diarrhea
  • neutropenia

It's used to treat various parasitic infections caused by nematodes, cestodes, and protozoa.

This medicine is recommended for cows and sheep. Do not use Albendazole to treat birds like pigeons or doves.

This medicine has been manufactured as a liquid, which is intended to be administered orally.

This medication should be stored in a dark, dry location under 30°C. The bottle should be tightly sealed when not in use.

The withdrawal time is 8-14 days for meat and 3-5 days for milk.

The maximum dosage is 10ml/3kg of body weight in cows and 1ml/3kg of body weight in sheep.
