It is a salicylanilide anthelmintic,it is known that these substances dissociate oxidants by phosphorylation in animal tissues
n vitro experiments indicate that salicylanilides, including commercially used Fungicides (fenbendazole and rafoxanide) are better at oxidative phosphorylation in Fasciola hepatica than in other parasites.
Indications :
Used for the treatment of mature and immature liver flukes and blood-sucking worms such as Haemonchus, Bunostomum, and Oesophagostomum in cattle and sheep.
Also used for the control of nasal bot fly larvae in sheep.
Dosage and Administration :
Administer orally directly or by using a bolus applicator.
- 7.5 mg/kg body weight
- Sheep, cattle, and goats: 1 bolus per 40 kg body weight
Repeat the dose after 14 days.
Precautions :
Do not administer concurrently with organophosphorus compounds within 15 days before or after treatment.
Side Effects :
Mild diarrhea and hypersalivation may occur.
